The mission of the Webster Education Foundation is to provide funding for innovative educational programs for students and teachers in the town of Webster, MA. Managed by a board of volunteers, the Board of Directors meets regularly to organize fund raising activities and consider grant applications.

The Webster Education Foundation generally awards grants twice a year, in October and in March.  However, feel free to submit your proposal at any time and we can have our board review it.

2012 Grant Applications Now Being Accepted

The Webster Education Foundation announces that it is now accepting grant submissions from all members of the Webster Public School community that are in keeping with our mission of providing programs and activities that are not likely to be funded by the regular district budget. A total of $13,000.00 is available as follows:  

• Up to $6,000.00 will be awarded for non-specified projects.
• Up to $4,000.00 will be awarded to project(s) that are related to the environment. (These funds are derived from last year's "Ice-Out Einstein".) While it is preferred that submissions relate to Webster and it's resources, it is not mandatory.
• Up to $1,000.00 will be awarded to teachers for research, study, institutes, or workshops to promote excellence in teaching in our classrooms. Awards may be used for conference fees, books, journals, software, online subscriptions or travel, etc. to support the pursuit of excellence in an area of teaching or team building. Topics could include teaching practice, subject matter expertise, the use of new media in the classroom, incorporating research-based learning strategies in daily lessons, or another topic important to the teacher. Project should not duplicate the formal professional development programs of the school system and should have the support of the building principal.
• $2,000.00 has been earmarked for the continuation of a project submitted in 2011.

All submissions must be postmarked or by Wednesday, February 6, 2012 (or if e-mailed they must be received by 4:00 p.m.) Grant application form with criteria can be found in the document library of our website. 

Winners will be announced the week of February 27, 2012.
